Parrot Cay (styled as Parrot Cay by COMO) is a private island resort, part of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Parrot Cay is part of the COMO Hotels and Resorts group. The island contains about 1,000 acres of land, a mile-long beach and features a high-end beach resort with 61 rooms. It is located about
575 miles south east of Miami, and can be reached by a 35 minute boat ride from Providenciales, the main island in Turks and Caicos.
Parrot Cay was originally created by a Kuwaiti family in 1988, who built the large structure that now functions as the resort's main building. The Gulf War affected the finances of this family,[2] and it remained empty until it was bought over and remade into a resort in 1998 by Singaporean hotelier Christina Ong for her COMO Hotels and Resorts group. It is said that her daughter Melissa Ong discovered the island during a diving trip.

Parrot Cay Turks and Caicos has established itself as the northern Caribbean's pre-eminent private island, wrapped in sweeps of sand and peaceful seas featuring the region's best spa and haute cuisine. Typical of COMO Hotels & Resorts, its owning company, Parrot Cay Turks and Caicos combines nature's 1000 unspoilt acres, including organic gardens and a mile-long powdered beach, with luxury details which are subtle, contemporary and cosseting to the extreme. It's a place to escape the world, to rediscover the softer rhythms of long days, easy nights, and the salve of peace. Accommodation, in clean whitewash with chic teak finishing, ranges from 42 airy rooms with gardens and verandas, to beach-side villas, some with private pools. The aesthetic is pared down but unerringly sleek, featuring four-posters wrapped in soft cottons that billow with the breeze. On the virgin hinterland beyond Rocky Point, find a newly-opened complex of three villas, rented together or separately. Here, the infinity pool is large enough to compete with that turquoise smudge lying at the heart of the resort, flanked by cabanas with alang-alang roofs.

Because of its secluded location and the privacy it provides, Parrot Cay has become very popular with many celebrities. Guests have included Paul McCartney, Justin Timberlake, Barbra Streisand, Penélope Cruz and Julia Roberts,

It’s an idyllic place, with a fine sandy beach, stretches of mangrove (waiting to be explored by kayak), a swimming pool and walking trails. Close to the island’s main jetty stand three large weathered-timber, palm-thatched, veranda-wrappedbures, built using local techniques. ?The central building is essentially living space, and it is flanked by two more buildings containing two double bedrooms apiece. There’s also a ‘sleep-outbure’ on a hilltop near the eastern end of the island – an utterly romantic, if rustic, open-walled structure for those unfazed by nature (though the bed is, at least, swathed in mosquito netting), where you’re woken by an unforgettable sunrise.

The founder of Fiji water, David Gilmour, owns this ultra-luxe, 2,200-acre private island resort, huge with Hollywood stars like Tom Cruise.
